Our experienced team covers the full spectrum of criminal allegations and deals with all types of hearings and trials that take place in Magistrates, Youth and Crown Courts – throughout the UK if necessary and often at short notice.
As soon as we are instructed to act we will make the necessary applications for legal aid, advise you on the evidence and represent you at all of the hearings.
Less serious offences are dealt with in the Magistrates Court. A large proportion of these are motoring offences, where we have an excellent track record of presenting exceptional hardship arguments and are often successful in avoiding licence disqualification and the enormous disruption this can cause to private and working lives.
Young persons under the age of 18 are usually dealt with in the Youth Court, a branch of the Magistrates Court. Although this is more informal, it has greater sentencing powers so it is important to obtain expert advice and be legally represented.
More serious matters are often resolved by jury trials in the Crown Court. Within the team we have criminal lawyers who specialise in handling sex offences, serious fraud and drug offences, GBH, murder and high value fraud cases. We frequently take on the most challenging and complex of cases and work in close conjunction with leading Counsel in many fields, often involving other forensic professionals such as accountants, scientists, psychiatrists and psychologists.
We have had recent and notable success in representing teachers and former teachers who have been falsely accused of sexual impropriety and defendants charged with multi-million pound fraud, corruption and counterfeiting offences.
