Blaser Mills partner Tony Tollinton is climbing Mount Kilimanjaro this month to raise money for the Chiltern Multiple Sclerosis Centre (www.chilternsmscentre.org).
The Chiltern MS Centre helps hundreds of MS sufferers in Herts and Bucks, providing physiotherapy and reflexology as well as general support. With yearly running costs of around £500,000, the Centre relies mainly on private donations and fund-raising.
The Centre is in the middle of a major fund-raising project to replace its existing temporary building at the former RAF Halton site near Wendover with a purpose-built building due to be completed next year.
Kilimanjaro is the largest mountain in Africa and the world’s highest free standing peak. There is no guarantee of success – altitude sickness on Kilimanjaro (5,895 metres) is fairly common because there is so little time to acclimatise.
