At Blaser Mills we have dealt with thousands of compensation claims and helped many people receive fair compensation and achieve claim success in different situations. Here are some examples of compensation claim success stories handled by our personal injury lawyers at the firm.
Run over on M4 hard shoulder
We acted for a client who sustained a serious head injury in an accident on the hard shoulder of the M4. Our client was stopped on the hard shoulder and was returning to his vehicle having used the emergency telephone. A driver of a vehicle fell asleep at the wheel and collided into the rear of our client’s car at high speed causing it to run over our client resulting in serious head injury and debilitating levels of pain and discomfort. Our client’s life was dramatically altered but we were able to secure him an award of over £900,000 in an out of Court settlement.
Young lady injured on boat
Our client was on a diving trip off the Cornish coast when it the pilot of the inflatable boat drove erratically causing the boat to hit a wake created by a large motor cruiser. Our client was thrown four to six feet into the air and landed badly sustaining torn ligaments and broken bones in her foot and leg. Whilst liability was denied, Court proceedings were issued and a very favourable settlement was reached for our client.
Injured paragliding on holiday
Our client whilst away on holiday took part in tandem paragliding arranged by the holiday company. Having briefly taken off they landed again before running a short distance and then going air borne. Our client tripped on the ground as he ran as a result of rocks and marmot holes on the runway. Whilst liability was denied the holiday company’s insurers made a substantial payment after the service of Court proceedings.
Falling through floor of vehicle whilst at work
Our client was a crew member of a bullion truck. The floor of the truck was bending under the weight of coins due to a metal support frame having broken away. Our client was using a pump truck at the time when it went through the floor causing injury to our client’s knee and shoulder. As our client’s employers ignored a letter of claim it was necessary to apply to the Court for an Order to compel the employers to disclose documentation relating to the truck and their knowledge of the problems with it. A very successful outcome was achieved for our client.
Girl trips at school
Our client was at school and was on her way to an exam when her foot fell into a drain that had no cover on it. Liability was denied by the Council but the case settled in our client’s favour shortly before trial. If you have had a slip or trip and want to know if you can claim>
Mother slips at Sea Life Centre
Our client was visiting a Sea Life Centre with her family when she slipped on some steps that were wet and had algae growing on them. It was also alleged that the bushes and shrubbery had grown over a warning sign. Liability was denied but a very favourable out of Court settlement was reached.

Liability was denied but shortly before trial the bus company’s insurers agreed to settle by making a substantial payment to our client.
