Blaser Mills is proud to have participated in the Spelthorne Careers Day which took part at Kempton Park Racecourse on Friday 27th June 2014.
The Careers Day was aimed at 15 to 18-year-olds with a view to inspiring the young people of Surrey to aspire to and reach their full educational potential.
Blaser Mills organised a number of workshops for the young adults to give them a taste of a ‘day in the life of a lawyer’. One of the workshops focussed on the topical Luis Suarez ‘bite’ allegations during a football match and the subsequent ban by the governing body, FIFA. We asked the young adults to think about what potential claims could arise from this scenario.
Lloyd Gash, Edward Thompson and Sarah Timothy, three (relatively!) young solicitors from Blaser Mills also manned the stand at the careers fair. They were on hand to give the young adults an insight into their career, what they do and how they entered into their roles as solicitors.
The day was a great success, with over 1,000 young people attending, and we have received excellent feedback from them.
Blaser Mills is passionate about local talent and recognises that today’s young adults are tomorrow’s business leaders. With this in mind, Blaser Mills signed up to take part in another local careers fair at Sir Henry Floyd Grammar School on Monday 14th July 2014.
