Colin Smith circleCOLIN SMITH

Colin is a partner in the Commercial team. He qualified as a solicitor in 1998, joined Blaser Mills, from Owen White in Slough, in September 2001 and became partner in 2003.

Colin advises across a wide range of non-contentious company, commercial and employment matters. His particular areas of expertise are:

Private company mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures and company restructures.

Employment contracts and policies, including staff handbooks.

Confidentiality and restrictive covenants; setting up in competition and protecting against it.

Advising on the practical impact of new employment legislation.

Reviewing and drafting commercial contracts: e.g. terms of business, sale of goods, supply of services, agency, distribution and franchising.

Company start ups and incorporation of existing businesses: e.g. formation, Memorandum & Articles of Association and Shareholders Agreements.

E-commerce, privacy policies and data protection.

Intellectual Property protection

Colin's clients cover the whole range of small to medium-sized businesses from entrepreneurial start ups to major employers; and from local companies to national concerns.

Colin provides a dedicated, hands-on service from an experienced Partner. He is able to provide prompt advice and offers the flexibility to meet demanding deadlines. As with the rest of the Blaser Mills Commercial department, Colin offers the quality of work you would expect from a major regional or Central London firm but at Buckinghamshire charging rates.

Colins leisure interests include amateur theatre, learning languages and playing golf and tennis.
