Graham Tolfts circleGRAHAM TOLFTS

Graham is a member of the Criminal Law department. He qualified as a solicitor in 1997 and joined Blaser Mills in 2005 from Martin Murray & Associates.

Graham is an experienced criminal defence lawyer and is a Higher Court Advocate. He is also experienced in all aspects of prison law.

He has been a criminal defence solicitor for 10 years and has represented clients for the full spectrum of offences - from motoring through to rape and murder. Having gained higher rights of audience he conducts hearings in the Crown Court as well as appearing in the local Magistrates' Court on a daily basis. In addition, Graham advises clients on prison law and represents them at Parole Board Hearings to argue for their release on licence.

Graham acted in the landmark case of R v. Nigel Ogier: a murder case which arose from an incident at Ascot racecourse. Following a successful Public Interest Immunity application before a Crown Court Judge the Defence was able to establish the use by the police of an informant, which put a different complexion on the Crowns evidence. Graham also conducted a case of causing death by dangerous driving, R v. Charles Sharpe, which was the subject of an Attorney Generals Reference on the basis that the sentence imposed was deemed Unduly Lenient.

Graham is happy to accept both privately and publicly funded clients.

Graham's main leisure interest is scuba diving.
