We are delighted to once again have been part of L’Etape UK Cycling Festival, which took place on Sunday 14th July.
The annual cycling festival is established as one of the toughest sporting events in the UK. Thousands of people come together to tackle the regions grueling climbs, including the infamous Whiteleaf Hill and Wardrobes. The riders start at Penn House and make their way through the Chilterns Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. This year there were a number of rides available: 161km route, 109km route and 52km route, along with the family ride. Our tent marked the sign up point for the family ride, which saw the participants ride as many 1km laps as they could in 30 minutes.
We also teamed up with Angelic Cupcakes to host our tent in the grounds of Penn House. We had complimentary face painting, sports massages, a social media competition, free goodies and delicious refreshments. Our trainee solicitors got involved by handing out goody bags for all to enjoy.
Throughout the day we asked race goers to kindly make a donation in return for complimentary face painting and a sports massage, with all donations going to rotary backed local community project Making Marlow Dementia Friendly, which aims to bring the Marlow community together to make a difference to those living with dementia, as well as their carers and loved ones.
Partners Dan Martin and Hiren Gandhi bravely took on the 109km route, finishing in just over 6 hours, raising money for Alzheimer’s Society in the process!
We are proud to have raised a total of £900 for charity!
