“Blaser Mills brings a client list and level of work to rival full-service London-based firms.” – The Lex 100

This week, Chambers Student Guide (sister publication of Chambers and Partners) and The Lex 100 (sister publication of The Legal 500) released their annual review of law firms who offer traineeships.

The publications are considered the bible for students and graduates seeking law firm training contracts. They offer an unbiased, independent advice on the type of training contract, culture and working environment, based on in-depth interviews with trainees who have worked at each firm.

The trainees that take part in the survey are guaranteed anonymity to give them confidence to speak frankly about the firm, ensuring the write ups are as accurate as possible.

Once again, our first and second year trainees have given us a glowing report, one trainee commented “We have really good working relationships with our supervisors and the training principal. They sit down and take the time to explain particular details if we’re struggling with a piece of work; they are seriously patient.” Another commented that the best thing about the firm was the “unparalleled levels of attention and support given to trainees.” Whilst another stated it was “the people – everyone, from secretaries to partners, is very friendly and happy to help.”

Trainees also applaud the firm’s culture which is “approachable; I feel that my contribution mattered” and that it does not “demand long hours irrespective of productivity”. In tandem with the high level of client contact, trainees also applauded the firm’s trust in them, running their own matters and enjoying “high levels of responsibility, learning on the job and close relationships with supervisors and the team”.
