Brain injury can have a major impact on your life. Every day activities, such as walking, talking and feeling can become a challenge.

Headway, the brain injury association, has a network of more than 125 groups and branches across the UK to provide support, services and information to brain injury survivors, their families and carers.

The causes, effects and severity of the brain injury can vary from person to person. After a minor head injury, brain functions could be temporarily impaired and could lead to headaches, dizziness and memory problems. More severe brain injuries could have more complex long-term problems affecting the survivor’s personality, relationships and ability to lead an independent life.

Headway offers support during every stage of recovery, whether that be through rehabilitation programmes, their free helpline, nationwide community support groups, award winning booklets and publications and carer support.

Improving life after brain injury

Headway recently published a short film to increase awareness of brain injury.

The film focuses on two brain injury survivors and their families who share their journey of how, with the help of Headway’s services and support, they have been able to rebuild their life after a brain injury. The video highlights Headway’s wide range of services that help survivors regain a quality of life and reintegrate into the community.

You can view and share the short film here.
