Aaron is a Trade Mark Attorney in the Corporate and Commercial team, with nearly 20 years’ legal experience.
Aaron is a Chartered Trade Mark Attorney and a European Trade Mark and Design Attorney. He is also one of a handful of Trade Mark Attorneys to have the same rights of audience as a barrister to take an IP dispute before the UK courts.
Throughout his practice has worked with businesses, helping them to get the most out of their brands, designs and copyright. Aaron also assists businesses with identifying their most important tangible assets, identifying what should be protected and how they can be used to maximise income and bring value to the business. In addition, he frequently works with brand owners, including a number of major UK firms, handling extremely complex IP disputes on their behalf.
Aaron has specific in-depth experience working for apparel clients, as well as clients in the food and drink, media and entertainment industries, as a result of working in-house at both Unilever and BBC Worldwide during his career. He is also a co-director of a business in the bridal sector.
Throughout his career, Aaron has been ranked in the top 10 advocates in the UK Intellectual Property Office for Trade Mark disputes (by number of appearances). Aaron has also been recognised as ‘Trade Mark Star 2020’ in the Managing Intellectual Property (MIP) IP Stars 2020 and is also listed as one of the world’s leading Trade Mark practitioners in the World Trademark Review.
Aaron is a former member of the executive council of the Chartered Institute of Trade Mark Attorneys (previously serving as the chair of its Education Policy and Development Committee) and is a contributor to the profession’s Handbook on Trade Mark Practice and is a regular writer and speaker on legal developments. He is regulated by the Intellectual Property Regulation Board in his work as a Chartered Trade Mark Attorney.
