David is a Senior Associate and head of the Sports team. He has been practising exclusively in the field of sports law for over 11 years and deals with all aspects of sports, acting for individuals and organisations across the full spectrum of contentious and non-contentious matters in the sports sector.

He has acted for clients in relation to a wide variety of arbitral and disciplinary proceedings in several forums including the Football Association (FA) Rule K, the English Football League (EFL) Player Related Disciplinary Commission, EFL Appeals Committee, as well as FIFA’s DRC and the Court of Arbitration for Sport ((CAS) in Lausanne.

David acts for sports clients in non-contentious matters including club and individual sponsorship deals, club acquisition and image rights. He also served as a member of the Scottish Football Association’s Judicial Panel from 2019.

Prior to his career in law, David was a professional football player and coach who gained international recognition for his country at U21 level and he also won the Scottish FA Cup. David also participated in the Champions League, UEFA and ECWC competitions.

His career at the highest levels in professional football has given him a unique insight and experience into the world of sports and the legal issues involved in this sector. This experience has proven invaluable when assisting and advising clients.

Previous to joining Blaser Mills, David was a solicitor at a number of well-known City practices since 2010.
