How is a fatal accident compensation claim made?
There are two types of claim in relation to fatal accidents.
The first is the deceased’s own claim which compensates for physical pain and suffering; compensation also includes financial losses suffered by the deceased between the date of the injury and the date of death, including funeral expenses.
The second is the claim brought on behalf of dependants of the deceased and which aims to help those who were financially dependent on the deceased. As well as the dependency claim, in fatal accidents there is a fixed award for bereavement of £12,950.
Our Serious Injury lawyers are experienced in dealing with these sensitive and difficult claims; they will guide you through the process and advise you about the possibility of obtaining compensation.
