Colin Smith

Colin is a Partner in the Corporate and Commercial team.

He specialises in corporate transactions, including joint ventures, management buyouts, mergers and acquisitions, regularly acting for buyers and sellers in business and share sales. Colin’s deals tend to have values in the range of £2-35 million. Recently he has acted for the sellers in a reverse takeover on AIM and the merger of two leading healthcare companies.

His expertise also covers the review, preparation and negotiation of commercial contracts, helping clients protect their ownership, trading relationships and financial transactions. Notable recent matters include negotiating for a client a major sales agreement with a large international customer and re-drawing a suite of master contracts for a business whose services involved the large-scale processing of personal data.

Colin acts for clients across a range of industry sectors including manufacturing and distribution, freight and logistics, health care and professional services. He brings particular insight to the creative industries from his previous career in brand management with Proctor & Gamble.
