Family Law » Mediation

Increasingly, divorcing or separating couples are using alternative dispute resolution processes to resolve their issues.

The court itself actively promotes mediation, and it generally expects parties to engage in mediation before family court proceedings are considered unless there are extenuating circumstances which would allow an exemption from this process.  Mediation is voluntary and does not involve court proceedings.  An impartial and qualified mediator will discuss the matter with the parties concerned and seek to reach a mutually acceptable agreement.

Mediation will not be appropriate for every case.  Our team of highly skilled and experienced family lawyers would be happy to discuss your matter with you, refer you to a suitable mediator and advise you during the mediation process.
